Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon — 2021 Obra Magna
Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon is at the heart of Obra Magna, Auxor Cellars’ interpretation of one of Napa Valley’s most distinctive cooler-climate appellations.
The 2021 Obra Magna comes from Coombsville, where the combination of volcanic soils and a relatively cool growing environment allows Cabernet Sauvignon to develop depth and concentration while preserving freshness and definition.
Aged for approximately 21 months with 40% new oak, the wine balances structure with elegance rather than relying on sheer power. Dark fruit character is layered with savory notes, subtle spice and restrained oak, while firm yet polished tannins provide shape and length.
The palate is composed and structured, with enough freshness to keep the wine energetic and focused. This is a Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon built with aging in mind, but with the balance and refinement to be enjoyed now with some time in the glass.
Obra Magna represents Auxor’s approach to Cabernet Sauvignon: detailed, restrained and expressive of place.
